Chronic pain.
Individual assessment.
Comprehensive treatment.

At Adelaide Chronic Pain Clinic, we offer coordinated care for people living with chronic pain after workplace injury. Our goal is to help you move forward with improved understanding, confidence, and support.

What to Expect from a Personalised Team-Based Approach

After referral from your doctor or specialist, we start with a consultation with pain specialist and occupational physician Dr Graham Wright.

From there, referrals are made to a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and psychologist. Each practitioner provide individual care tailored tailored to your needs.

We then hold a joint Zoom meeting with you and the treatment team. This meeting reviews your situation, describes the underlying issues, and we agree on a treatment plan.

Our Steps of Treatment

Assess

We begin with a thorough multi-axial assessment to understand your diagnosis, function and context, so we can plan the right way forward.

Treat

Your tailored treatment plan is delivered by our team, focusing on practical steps that help you build strength, confidence and function.

Review

We meet with you to check progress, update goals, and make sure treatment is working for your needs and circumstances.

Continue Treatment

Further targeted care builds on your progress, addressing new challenges and reinforcing what’s already working well.

Reassess

We reassess your condition, function and goals to confirm what has improved and what still needs attention.

Complete

When treatment is complete, we help you transition with confidence, ensuring you have the tools and strategies to maintain progress.

Ongoing Support and Review

Initial treatment usually spans three months, with each practitioner seeing you as needed.

After this initial treatment period, we meet via Zoom to review your progress, identify any barriers, and adjust the plan as necessary. This cycle of treatment and review continues, typically over two or three more cycles, to support progress.

We host case conferences with employers, insurers and rehabilitation providers.  We explain the issues, explain how case managers can assist, and participate in rehabilitation planning. We understand the South Australian workers compensation system.

A work-related injury can involve your health, your job, your family, your insurer, medical opinions, and legal matters. We help you make sense of the system, access appropriate supports, and support your long-term wellbeing. Our role is to help you recover and regain stability and direction in life.

We keep your general practitioner informed, and involve your general practitioner as requested. We remain available to you and your general practitioner.

Meet our Practitioners
I’ve been doing this for a long time. I keep doing it because it matters. This work is challenging, but it’s worth it. When people come to us, they’ve usually been told there’s nothing more to be done. But we take the time to look at the whole picture, and we find a way forward.
